NATIONAL MBURUCUYÁ PARK
The Mburucuyá National Park is located in Mburucuyá, Corrientes province just one hour drive north from La Alondra lodge. It has an area of 17,086 hectares belonging to the Esteros del Iberá Eco-region, showing several round shaped lagoons typical from this area.
The different trails around it, makes it the perfect place for a mild hike (two or three hours, depending on the trail) for those in love with photo safaris.
It’s filled with easy-to-observe wildlife such as river otters, capybaras, alligators, skunks and armadillos but also, not-so-easy-to-spot ones as marsh deers, the crab eating fox and the maned wolf, most of them endangered.
Birdlife is plentiful, specially aquatic birds being the most distinguish one the “yetapá de collar”. You can find more than 341 bird species inside the park, an ornithologist’s dream.
If you are into exotic dances, or just curious about culture, you can visit the “chamame museum”. If you are visiting during February there is a big chance to visit the National Festivity of Traditional Chamame that takes place here.
Get your camera ready, get some comfortable shoes and of you go.
