Swimming the wetlands with horses

Swimming with horses

Back in the day, the Estereros (people who live in the ‘esteros’) used to travel to town to sell hides or buy provisions. It was a day ride through a variety of terrains and wildlife. The only way for the paisano to cross the numeros water streams carrying all the merchandise was taking his horse by the tail and swim next to him across the water.

We will take to you back in time to experience the esterero way. Swim through channels with a horse surrounded by the unique wetlands biodiversity.

This can be done as a day activity, start very early, swim the channels, and back on the boat. Or we can reach camp after a day long swimming, enjoy the night in the wilderness, and return next morning on a boat. During the whole experience, a boat will be following us in case someone gets behind, or gets tired of swimming.
This is truly immersion in the wetlands life, in all sense of the phrase.

IMPORTANT: knowing how to swim is mandatory.

Necessary equipment: swimming suit, repellent, sun cream, hat, Sunglasses and extra clothe to get change.
