Lujan de Cuyo Wine Tour

Lujan de Cuyo Wine Tour

Mendoza alone has around 1050 registered wineries ranging from garage/boutique operations to
large scale industrial holdings. This provides a wide array of wines for us to enjoy, reflecting different
styles and philosophies in winemaking. Not getting lost in this maze of wineries and being able to
keep up with the new exiting wines that come out every vintage is part of our job, and as industry
insiders we can blend a better selection of experiences for you to enjoy. We are also specialists on
detecting “under the radar” labels that will surprise even the most sophisticated palate.

Despite Malbec being the emblematic grape of the region and the country, there are other wines that are
surprising and different in style than the ones you already know and like. Cabernet Sauvignons, Cab.
Franc, Bordeaux style blends, Grenache, Mouvedre and the next rising star for Argentinean whites,
Torrontés. Pinot Noirs and Shiraz also develop in whole different beasts in this country

Traditionally called The First Zone, because was the area that irrigation waters running down from the
mountains first reach, comprehends the sub regions of Maipú, Lujan de Cuyo, Vistalba and Agrelo. This
area is clustered with vineyards and wineries and is located 20 minutes south of Mendoza City. Rural
roads lined with poplar trees, the snow-capped peaks of the Andes Front Range as a dramatic backstage
and the stunning architecture of some of these wineries will décor our day as we hop from winery to
winery discovering different styles and stories. Gourmet lunch is served at the last winery, normally
several courses paired with different wines from the house. Be ready for siesta afterwards…
We typically visit three different wineries, and we choose them depending upon our client´s profile,
likes, interests and wine knowledge.
Wineries in this area we may visit:
Achaval Ferrer, Altavista, Alotcedro (Ave María Purísima), Benegas Lynch, Bressia, Caelum, CAP
Vistalba, CarinaE, Caro, Catena Zapata, Cheval des Andes, Cruzat, El Enemigo, Finca Decero,
Krontiras, La Anita, Lagarde, Luigi Bosca, Malbec de Ángeles, Matervini, Matías Riccitelli, Melipal,
Mendel Wines, Piatelly Vineyards, Pulenta Estate, Ruca Malen, Serrera, Tapiz, Terrazas de Los Andes,
Trapiche, Ver Sacrum, Viña Cobos.
Keep in mind that most of these wineries are closed on Sundays.
We highly recommend visiting “Cruzat” (sparkling wine), “Matías Riccitelli” or “Altocedro” (Ave
Maria Purisima) and “Ver Sacrum” wines at “La Cayetana” for lunch.
